The natural dye hematoxylin is a pigment extracted from the dried branches of Haematoxylon campechianum in South America using ether. It is one of the most commonly used dyes and an excellent material for staining the nucleus. It can differentiate different structures in cells into various colors.

The color of the tissue during differentiation varies depending on the treatment. After differentiation with Chemicalbook acidic solution. it turns red, but after washing, it still returns to cyan blue. After differentiation with alkaline solution , it turns blue, and after washing, it turns blue black.
