Sephadex LH20 is a polymer compound with a porous three-dimensional network structure. It belongs to a soft gel, and its micropores can absorb a large amount of solvents. Gel can swell to many times their dry volume and obtain porosity in proportion to the volume of inhaled solvent. They are widely used in biochemistry for the separation of proteins, nucleic acids, enzymes and polysaccharide macromolecules. They are indispensable media in the separation and purification of biomacromolecules.

 

The dextran gel is a bead shaped cross-linked dextran, which contains a large number of hydroxyl groups and is easy to swell in water and electrolyte solutions. The G type dextran gel has various cross-linking degrees. Therefore, their swelling and fractionation ranges are also different. SChemicalbookpandexG-10 and G-25 sugar gel are used in aqueous solution. If organic solvent is used as mobile phase, SepandexG needs to be converted into hydroxypropyl glucan gel that can be swelled in organic solvent through hydroxypropylation
