Iron phosphate FePO4, also known as iron orthophosphate or high iron phosphate (divalent iron ion is ferrous phosphate), has a specific gravity of 2.74. The naturally occurring FePO4 is also called blue iron ore, and the iron in FePO4 is trivalent iron, mainly in the form of dihydrates. Except for sulfuric acid, it is insoluble in other acids and almost insoluble in water, acetic acid, and alcohol. It is a white, grayish white monoclinic crystal powder, which is a salt formed by the interaction of iron salt solution and sodium phosphate, in which iron is trivalent. It has the characteristics of being non-toxic, low cost, and structurally stable.
