Propyl nonolactone, commonly known as octadecaldehyde, coconut aldehyde, chemical name gamma-nonolactone, is a light yellow or colorless oil liquid. When strong, it has a coconut aroma, when diluted, it has an almond or peach aroma. Boiling point 207ºC, flash point 96.1ºC, crystallization point -37ºC.
