Trichloro tert butanol is an organic compound with the chemical formula (t-BuO) 3CCl, which has one tert butoxy group and three atoms in its structure- Appearance: Colorless liquid with a pungent odor. Melting point: -19 ºC, boiling point: 94-96 ºC, density: 1.23 g/cm ³.

 

1. As an organic synthesis reagent, it can be used to promote the reaction of alcohols, ethers, aldehydes and ketones.
2. In organic synthesis, it can be used for etherification reaction, dehydration reaction, acylation reaction and cyanide reaction.
3. In organometallic chemistry, trichlorobutanol can be used as a reducing agent or chlorinating agent.
4. Used as preservatives and plasticizers
